Paul Brakmann studied Kulturwissenschaften and art history at the University of Leipzig and at the Free University of Berlin. Since December 2019 he is a research assistant at the Research Centre “The Technical Image”. His interests cover the visual culture of technology around 1600, sites of photography and photographic practice in the nineteenth century, and the history of the history of photography.
