Alina Januscheck is a cultural and social anthropologist. She studied comparative cultural and religious studies at the Philipps Universität in Marburg. In her master’s degree at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, she specialised in researching material culture in archives, exhibition practices and science communication.
From 2021 to 2023, Miss Januscheck worked as a curatorial assistant at the Humboldt Labor. She is a research assistant in the project “Towards Sonic Resocialisation” now. It is funded by the German Lost Art Foundation and is based at the Lautarchiv. The project focuses on sound recordings made in German prisoner-of-war camps during the First World War. The digitised recordings and their documentation will be made accessible to the Institut Fondamental d’Afrique Noire in Senegal and, in the long term, to other African archives over the course of the project.
