Teaching & Learning

Teaching at the HZK is understood as interdisciplinary support for young academics from the BA to the post-doc phase. In the Gerlachbau and Tierantomisches Theater (TA T), the establishment of an object laboratory will create a unique infrastructure for research-based teaching, enabling training on the object and with concrete materials. This will benefit both the interdisciplinary study programme Diversity of Knowledge, in which BA and MA students of natural sciences and humanities will learn cultural techniques and the history of knowledge in practice using concrete objects, and the interdisciplinary international Master’s programme Open Design in cooperation with the Universidad de Buenos Aires.

Since October 2021, Daniel Tyradellis has held the chair of the Humboldt Forum Endowed Professorship for the “Theory and Practice of Curation”. The professorship researches and teaches on the development of methods and their application in the field of museology.
