Johanna Stapelfeldt studied “Cultural Studies and Aesthetic Practices” at the University of Hildesheim. She was a member of the DFG network “Improvisation und Invention” (Hildesheim/Zürich) and of the Center for Literature and Science (FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg). She received a scholarship from the binational PhD-Net “Das Wissen der Literatur” (HU Berlin) and was a Visiting Student Research Collaborator at the Department of German at Princeton University. Her past curatorial work includes two cultural-historical, interdisciplinary special exhibitions for the German Hygiene Museum (Dresden). In her last position at the exhibition agency Die Exponauten (Berlin) she worked on the conception and implementation of a permanent exhibition for the Forum Wissen, a new science museum at the University of Göttingen.

Since September 2020 she works as a curator for the Humboldt Labor and is responsible for monitoring and developing further the opening exhibition.
