Maria Ollesch studied cultural sciences (M.A.) and German philology in Berlin, Marseille and London (King’s College). Her academic focus is on the field of semiotics and the exploration of participatory rhetoric and strategies in a museum context, which she also dealt with in her Master’s thesis on the planning process of the Humboldt Forum. In addition to her five years of student work for the President of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, she gained experience in cultural and project management at the Goethe-Institut Marseille and in academic work with historical archives at the “Centre Européen de Ressources pour la Recherche et l’Enseignement sur la Shoah à l’Est” in Paris.

From April 2018 to March 2020 she worked as project manager and co-curator for the Humboldt Labor. Since April 2020, she has been in charge of the project and is responsible for commissioning the HU’s exhibition spaces in the Humboldt Forum and for the administrative preparation of the opening exhibition.
